The Vidaview Life Story Board™

An innovative and versatile therapy, interview, and assessment tool

The name ‘Vidaview’ connotes vida , ‘life’ in Spanish, with ‘view’… looking at life. The Vidaview Life Story Board is a practical toolkit with a magnet receptive game board by which verbal conversation is rendered into visual form through co-construction of a lifescape. The Life Story Board LSB is designed for use by a therapist with client, a qualitative researcher with an interviewee, or for other interactive applications. Storyboarding utilizes a flexible schema of Element Cards, representing physical and mental objects, that are placed on the board’s Zones in meaningful arrangement. LSB functions like a mind map to depict, externalize, see and reflect upon a person’s situation or narrative, as elicited by the dialogical process of co-construction. It opens up multi-sensory pathways for cognitive processing, and therapeutic expression not accessed by verbal modes of interaction.

Here is a 2019 publication about LSB as a visual tactile interview tool: LSB in FQS journal 2019
