Robert Chase MD is assistant professor in Community Health Sciences at University of Manitoba and physician at the MFL Occupational Health Centre. He developed the Vidaview Life Story Board.
As a tool for counsellors and therapists:
- the visual, tactile co-construction of a lifescape is an engaging way to listen, and for the client to give voice and bring to visual attention what they share.
- LSB facilitates respectful exploration of sensitive issues, with a sense of safety and control, and enhances the therapeutic alliance.
- LSB can be used in assessment, as well as in trauma-informed, narrative and art-based approaches with older children and adults.
- LSB is a versatile modality in qualitative interview.
